In oil, acrylic or watercolour, landscape paintings completed en plein air and small studio paintings developed from her personal observances comprise a substantial arts practice for the artist. Bev Mazurick lives in south-western Alberta although she was also a long time resident of the west coast of Canada–living in the Fraser Valley and on Vancouver Island. She draws from experiences in both regions for her landscape work.
Loosely within the landscapes genre, Viewpoints is a collection of recent studio paintings in mixed media oil focusing on conceptual and literal interpretations of perspective.
A new series in 2021, Expressive Wildflowers, are reactive explosions of colour and texture in mixed media oil.
The study of character and contemporary approaches to portraiture are also ongoing special interests.
